Congratulations to all the players and coaches who have made it to the Elite Eight! Your team now has become a local, regional, and possibly state story. Townspeople who have not seen a high school basketball game in over a decade are coming out of the woodwork to see your team try to win one more game.
The Elite Eight round is the final game that is played at the site of the higher seed. It also is a point where every team now has a story to tell. The higher seeds have the pressure of meeting expectations. Being a number one seed is a blessing because you had a fantastic season and based on power rankings are considered the number one team in the division. The #1 ranking is also a bit of a burden because in the eyes of some, anything short of an appearance in the state championship might be considered a letdown.
Elite Eight games are also fantastic for “hoop junkies.” Coaches whose teams’ seasons are over. Parents of children who hope to be able to play in a game like this someday. Older siblings, extended family and a handful of college coaches attempting to recruit players who have performed well will all be in attendance.
Below are the match-ups for 2025. All the number one seeds have advanced to the elite eight. This is where their story begins. Eight teams are left. All eight teams are battle tested. All teams have good chemistry and good coaches. Players have confidence in themselves and their teammates. ALL eight teams from the bottom of their heart believe they can advance for the Final Four.
Each team is only promised one more game. The Elite Eight is the game that needs to draw all the energy and focus of the players and coaches. Yes, there is a bracket with three other games. Those games do not matter a lick. Focus on playing good fundamental basketball! Leave everything on the court. Support your teammates and coaches. Don’t point fingers. And have fun! The Elite Eight game will be a memory that will stay with you forever.
Good Luck!
Check out the current bracket and biggest upsets. To determine the biggest upset, we will subtract the lower seed from the highest seed. Games will be played
