AAU is part of the life of almost every youth and high school basketball player. It is one way to develop as a player and for many players it is a great fit. Programs are all unique, so it is important for parents and players to research a program to before joining to make sure it will be a great learning experience.
The information provided here is to provide with ONE EXAMPLE of the time commitment of a high school AAU basketball player for a Spring 2022 season.
Tryouts (February 26th & March 6th): Tryouts for spring can start as early as January and be as late as the 2nd week in March. Be sure you know the dates, times, and locations of tryouts because this is the 1st step to making a team.
The AAU weeks start on Monday and end with games on Sunday.
Week #1 March 14th – 20th:
One practice Thursday practice 6:00 – 7:30
No Tournament
Week #2 March 21st – 27th:
Two practices Tuesday 6:00 – 7:30, Thursday 6:00 – 7:30

Week #3 March 28th – April 3rd:
Two practices Wednesday 8:00 – 9:30, Thursday 6:00 – 7:30
Tournament: Saturday April 2nd: 2 Games 2:20 & 4:40
Tournament: Sunday April 3rd: 1 Game 11:15 Thayer BCRI
Week #4 April 3rd – 10th
Two Practices: Wednesday 5:30PM-7:00PM, Thursday 6:00PM-7:30PM
Tournament: Friday April 8th: 1 game 6:15
Tournament: Saturday April 9th: 2 games 4:10 & 7:40
