The season is broken up into sections based on weeks. Here is our attempt to explain to players and parents what it means to be a VARSITY player.

Tryouts & Cuts

Week #1 (23 hours) [November 28th – December 5th]: Tryouts, team selection, scrimmage

  • Practices (12.5 hours): five 2.5 hour practices.
  • Jamboree / scrimmage (6 hours): This includes three 16 minute halves and rest in between playing and travel time.
  • Classroom Session (2.5 hours): Five 30 minute sessions
  • Commute (2 hours): 20 minutes per day commute each day. This will vary for each player.

Pre-Season & Scrimmages

Early Season

Week #3 (19 hours): 4 practices, one home game, one away game

  • Practices (8 hours): four 2 hour practices
  • Home Game (3.5 hours): Arrive at 5:00 tip-off for JV. Shoot around and halftime. Get ready for game at 6:30 finish up by 8:30.
  • Away Game (5.5 hours): bus 3:45 arrive at school after game 9:00
  • Commute (2 hours): 20 minutes per day commute each day. This will vary for each player.

Week #4 (19 hours): 3 practices, one home game, one away game.
